Garnett Wharfe Maps

Sitting within the town of Otley in West Yorkshire, Garnett Wharfe is a residential suburb that grew out of a significant regeneration project on the site of the old Garnett paper mill. The development, which took shape between roughly 2012 and 2018, created around 237 new homes on the mill’s former footprint and the land stretching to its east, transforming what had been an industrial site into a modern housing neighbourhood along the riverside.

A Town with Industrial Roots

Otley has long carried traces of its manufacturing past, and Garnett Wharfe is a direct product of that legacy. The paper mill that once occupied the site gave the suburb its name, and the wharfe element echoes the town’s close relationship with the River Wharfe, which runs through Otley. The redevelopment brought new dwellings to a part of town that had previously been given over to industry, repurposing the land for residential use while retaining the area’s historical character in name at least.
